The data in a data view grid can be sorted by a column by simply clicking
the column header. If you click the same column a second time, it will be
sorted in descending order (reverse). You will notice that the sort column
header will be marked with a little triangle. If the triangle is pointing
up the sort is ascending (forward), if the triange is pointing down the sort
is descending (reverse). If you then click on another column, the data is
sorted by that column with the previous column being used to control the
sorting of duplicate entries. Up to 4 previous columns are remembered to
control the sort order.
One can see the current sort order by right clicking on the data grid and
selecting Show Sort Order.
Sort order is perserved and restored when the view or application is closed
and then reopened or restarted.
